The Spring Hill Opera Lovers Club was formed three years ago by a small group of opera lovers who wanted to learn more about opera and enjoy the fellowship of kindred spirits. We cover a variety of opera-related topics at our meetings.

Members of the opera group are attending performances of three operas this season: Romeo and Juliet, Il Trovatore, and Don Giovanni, and a concert by soprano, Deborah Voigt.

Before attending the operas we discuss the structure, plot, history, and important things to listen for. After each show we discuss our impressions of the music, the singing, the production, etc. At other meetings we invite guest speakers to enlighten us on some aspect of opera.

NEXT MEETING - Our next meeting will be Saturday ~ MAY 17, 2008, 11 AM to 1 PM.
Jerry Squier will be presenting a program, " A Celebration of American Opera Singers."
New members and visitors are welcome to the meeting.

The public is welcome to attend and all are encouraged to ask questions and contribute to the discussion. We meet the 3rd Saturday of every month, from 11 AM to 1 PM, in the clubhouse of the Forest Glenn Retirement Community on Osabaw Rd.
